What is a morticed fence post?

A mortice is a is a rectangular cavity in a material that usually forms a joint. In fencing, timber arris rails are fitted through the mortice. Feather-edge boards are then nailed to the arris rail and overlap each other to create a continuous barrier.

Also known as closeboard fencing, this is an attractive method of fencing, which provides complete privacy.

Concrete accessories for morticed fence posts

Corner morticed fence posts are available to allow for a change of direction at 90° angles.

A concrete gravel board is used to prevent the timber coming in contact with the ground, preventing rotting.
